The sheer imperial scale of Rome is sure to knock your team out and it's not the heat we are talking about. Rome is breathtaking: the opulence of the Vatican, the timelessness of the Forum, the top speed of a Fiat Bambino or the gory resonance of the Colosseum. The Rome Challenge includes the Trevi Fountain and the street made famous by the film La Dolce Vita, but did you know some of the city's famous inhabitants were not even Italian, such as the children's author Hans Christian Andersen and the English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. But rest assured, if the heat does get to you and you have planned superbly, then I'd cool off in Harry's Bar on the Via Veneto and watch the world go by!
